Saving Businesses, Saving Lives
Published on 3rd September, 2020
At the beginning of the year, many of us thought that 2020 would be yet another new year of possibilities and living out our plans and dreams. Armed with energy, we forged ahead. But little did we know that our lives were on the cusp of a momentous change.
News about the coronavirus broke and spread across borders, oceans and nations worldwide. As one of the first countries to be affected, we were not prepared for the months that followed as the pandemic slowly engulfed our people, our economy and our island. Along with this - tumbling morales, intense fears, jobs losses and crumbling businesses swept across the country.
Against this background of uncertainty and negativity, Arsea found an opportunity to help struggling businesses that were adversely affected. With our customers’ support, long time subcontractors with up to 40 years of rich experience became part of the Arsea family, together with their employees. We were privileged to have them with us, growing Arsea from a small team to ~ 175-man strong and growing.
To continue to keep spirits uplifted during these challenging times, Arsea partnered with a local church cell group of 12 volunteers and a total of 75 care packages filled with necessities and masks were packed for our foreign workers. On Saturday, 29 Feb 2020, our foreign workers gathered at one of Arsea’s properties to commemorate the completion of the site and receive their care packages, as the group prayed and thanked each one of them for their hard work. Moving forward, we assured them that we are in this together, that we care and that they matter to us. The workers were thankful, and we were more grateful for the opportunity to impact their lives in a little way – to this group of people who play a small, but crucial role in Singapore’s real estate industry. That afternoon was indeed a day to remember.
At Arsea, we will continue to support one another through this volatile season and hope that we will emerge from this trying time, stronger together.
